No answers

I've gotten the whole run-around from our pediatrician (who will no longer be our doctor after this week)! After all of the symptoms Luke was dealing with (and now Carter) she simply said, "There is nothing wrong with Luke's immune system. I suggest you see another specialist." Apparently the bloodwork gave us no answers, which I find very hard to believe. It is so frustrating for us to not get a clear answer on what Luke was fighting. (coughing for 3-4 weeks, runney nose, diarhea, fevers and lethargic for 2 1/2 days... something was going on.)  This is not just a hang nail!

We are looking for a new doctor this week and we will get both boys in for a check up to make sure things are okay. At this point, I don't have any real concerns with the boys other than Carter's fevers, recently but I'll assume they're mostly due to teething.

For now, happy babies..happy Mommy.

Keep us in your thoughts.

Let's see, where should I begin..

We are still in search of answers as far as Luke goes. We made an emergency trip to the ER last weekend for Luke's high fever and lethargic behaviors. They misdiagnosed him with a Urinary Tract Infection. He has been fine since but still not 100% himself. He isn't interested in eating anymore unless we force him. So that has us worried. I took him in Friday to Childrens hospital to get more blood drawn. We should hear back Monday or Tuesday on what has caused him to get sick so frequently. He is teething (& proud to say Crawling too) but we are more than ready for some answers.

Carter is most likley coming down with the same thing; he's just days behind. Carter woke up with a 103.3 fever and was uninterested in breakfast this morning. There is definitely a pattern going on and we are hoping for the best and a cure to end all this. (Carter is crawling too, by the way!)

Luke

The boys are now 10 months and this is our favorite age so far. They are so sweet and their personalities are really developing. Carter is trying really hard to crawl but just hasn't figured out the moving part, yet. He's definitely the more active one still to this day, while Luke continues to love cuddling and laying low.

Luke still has a chronic cough. It seemed to get much better after we visited the Specialist but it's back. He had a small fever over the Labor Day weekend but he seemed alright. Then on Tuesday, the fever came back. I took him in right away because this cough and what ever else has gone on way too long. It turns out Luke's oxygen levels were extremely low, he had really splotchy skin on top of the high fever and the harsh cough. He also vomited three times so he was extremely dehydrated. So we had some blood tests run yesterday (after 6 pokes to the arms, ankle and heels). We are waiting for results today.  The doctor believes that he has a bacteria infection and if his blood tests are negative we will get an antibiotic hoping to cure all. If it does not test negative his blood may be growing some sort of bacteria and therefore he would need treatment at the hospital through an IV.

I stayed home today with both boys. (I could totally get used to this & I envy the moms that are fortunate enough to stay home.) As of this morning, no fever or vomiting and he's quite smiley so I'm hoping for a better day for the little guy.

Here's a picture from last night compared to this morning.
